Toothache Plant – Spilanthes Acmella
This therapeutic herb is a wonder with many uses as a topical pain reliever for toothaches and many other things. It is a little plant that gets about a foot wide and a foot high. It has lovely little flowers that are often called buzz buttons because of the numbing buzz they cause when you chew on them. They also will cause salivation so watch out. They are often made into tinctures or creams. The cream is also used as a natural Botox as it relaxes worry lines and helps to smooth out skin wrinkles. This South American plant is also known to be an antiviral, antibiotic, and anti-fungal. Toothache Plant is an annual in most areas but can winter over in warm climates.
The seeds are extremely small requires you to seed them lightly on top of the soil and not cover. Unlike many seeds, they need light to germinate.
