Balkonzauber Seed
$3.00Balkonzauber Seed
$3.00The Balkonzauber is a German tomato that was sent to us by a customer that said it was one of her favorites. We grew it last year for the first time and it was wonderful. It is translated as Balcony Magic. The plant group is a nice compact plant with a lot of 2-3 oz tomatoes that all matured at once. This is a determinate tomato. It then died and cleared the space in the garden to grow something else. It was a very early plant producing in around 70 days. It was one of the earliest ones in the garden.
This plant is very rare and is not often found in North America.
Balkonzauber Tomato is normally fairly low maintenance and quite easy to grow, as long as a level of basic care is provided throughout the year. Being aware of the basic soil, sun, and water preferences will result in a happier and healthier plant.

Fred Tomato Seeds
$3.00Fred Tomato Seeds
$3.00This is an heirloom to our rescue program. The tomato came from a fellow farmer at the Columbia Farmers Market. It is his family’s heirloom tomato from the Mid-Missouri Glasgow area. The tomato is larger than a normal plum tomato that is good for canning and cooking as well as eating fresh. The Fred is a weird plant that has really small leaves and lanky limbs. The tomatoes take a while to come in, and they are really large.
The Fred was named after the Missouri Extension Agent that developed the tomato in the ’50s adapting it to Missouri. We are the only known source for these seeds.
These seeds have a lower germination rate and each tomato has very few seeds. So there are only 12 seeds per pack.
