    Poblano peppers are called Anchos when dried or roasted. It is a very popular Heirloom pepper that goes a dark green and then a dark burgundy when ripe. The plants get about 2.5 feet tall and peppers are about four inches long, plump with medium heat.  The Scoville rating is 3000. Peppers take about 80 days to mature.

    The Purple Beauty is a 70 days Heirloom Sweet Pepper. A short bushy plant has lots of leaves to protect the fruit.  The 3-4 inch lobed bell-type fruit is purple from the start. Sweet, mild flesh is thick-walled.  They make a splash on your plate with their deep purple coloring. The peppers start green to white and then develop purple stripes that eventually cover the entire fruit.   The meat stays lime green inside.

    The pepper likes heat and humidity and does well in Climates like Missouri.  The plant itself will get 18 to 24 inches tall.
