The Waltham Butternut Squash is 110 days heirloom. Large fruit turn to a pale yellow-orange color. Flesh is sweet and fine textured. They are great for baking and put out a lot of fruit. They are reasonably resistant to bugs and tend to solider along through challenges. These vines will grow rather long so be prepared to stake them of let them climb over a structure or two.
These are a favorite around the holiday season. Cut them in half and put in a baking dish. Add a little water at the bottom of the dish. Bake at 375 till soft. Spoon out the meat and enjoy.
